We were like hypnotized by American artist Robert Cannon‘s work he calls Terraform Sculpture. What would an artist like Cannon, B.A. with distinction in Architecture, Yale University (New Haven, Connecticut), could do with concrete and moss? Amazing sculptures! We selected two of them from the Terraform Sculpture Imperial line to illustrate this post: left – Gauntlet (72 x 60 x 32) and right – Bucephalus (38 x 24 x 12). But you can see ...
We love Art, all kind of Art. We follow the work of many, many artists. Hundreds of links of websites filled with beautiful works made by inspired and creative artists. So it was time was share them with you, as we already did before but with one little change. We received emails from Spanish, Swedish, American, Mexican and other readers asking us why we didn’t talk about this particular artist, coming from their country… So here we are dear ...
This week-end, Max Dana posted an article on her blog about Owen Maseko: Owen Maseko, a Zimbabwean artist under arrest. She follows the artist and his work for a long time and she wrote about his arrest last week (via This is Zimbabwe). Yesterday, Amnesty International called on Zimbabwe’s Government to end repression of public debate on past and ongoing human rights violations, following the detention of a well known artist for work depicting ...
This post is for all the fans of Max Dana‘s work who want to know more about her inspiration, where it comes from and who inspires her. Working with her and knowing her well, we are supposed to know many things about her work but we are far from knowing everything. For example, we of course know she likes black (in her drawings, her paintings… and in what she wears) but we learned a lot from her recent post on her Blog. It is about ...
In 1985, Keith Haring painted a 70-foot-long mural for the South of Market Childcare Center (SOMACC) in San Francisco. Today the wall is exposed at Deitch Projects (18 Wooster Street, New York), until February 16, 2010. Keith Haring is unquestionably one of the most iconic artists of the 20th century, mixing Abstract Expressionism and Pop in a very unique way. Information about the exhibition at Deitch Projects (visit website): Deitch Projects ...
Working with Max Dana for quite a long time now, we are used to discover almost everyday, the many aspects of the World of Sama and the creative world of our beloved artist. We were very intrigued, to say the least, when we watched the video of Dutch artist Zeger Reyers‘ installation “Rotating Kitchen“. The introduction says: ‘The Rotating Kitchen by Zeger Reyers was put into motion during the opening of the exhibition Eating the Universe at the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf, Germany, last Friday. It will keep rotating slowly until February 28th 2010’. It’s part of the program “Eating the ...
Porcelain and a hammer, that’s the idea of this Porcelain Vase Clock created by Greek designer (born in Heraklion, so poetic!) Georgios Maridakis. Every hour, the tiny hammer knocks on the vase placed on the stand. Different vases produce different sounds and the vase will shatter, eventually. We loved the concept. You can also check Maridakis’ other designs on his official website. Only advice: don’t that with a Ming vase…
