Lockdown in France has been lifted today allowing non-essential shops and businesses to reopen although bars and restaurants will remain closed until further notice; they have been fully shuttered since March 15 and their owners are reeling from the shutdown (read our post about online platforms J’aime Mon Bistrot, Sauve Ton Resto, Bar Solidaire). As a consequence, some of them are setting up food trucks and started takeaway services to help maintain a stream of income and get them through the crisis.
Le Fooding guide, owned by the iconic Michelin group, just launched “Plat de résistance”, a listing of 500 establishments across France providing takeaways (and/or offering food delivery services as well) and will soon be joined by Michelin starred chefs. The list will also include artisan food shops and bakeries. After a 55-day nationwide coronavirus lockdown, this initiative is more than welcome until restaurants can safely reopen.
The yellow-mustard Plat de résistance website is engaging, you only have to fill in your city to access a list of restaurants and their culinary specialities ranging from burgers and pizza to sandwiches and salads; or if you prefer, Chinese, Mexican or Vegetarian cuisine… You will be spoilt for choice! So don’t waste any more time and place an order now or for later to support your favorite restaurant(s)!
