We love unicycles. We wish we all come to work using an unicycle. Just so we can have fun looking at each others. In August, we started the ‘Unicycle Series of Posts’ with the eniCycle: eniCycle: electric unicycle for lazy circus clowns and in September, we followed with the YikeBike: YikeBike: high wheel bicycle of the 21st century. Now, let us introduce you to the Honda U3-X!
Honda presented the U3-X last month and here is what we know: the U3-X weighs 10kg (22 lbs), the dimensions are 315×160×650mm and the battery lasts for about an hour. But you won’t go very fast with this eletric powered unicycle, speed only goes up to 6km/hour. U3-X uses the Honda Omni Traction Drive System and HOT Drive System (technology already used by Honda robot Asimo).
You can read the press release here (in Japanese, if you’re familiar with the language). If you’re not, the video below will explain it all.
We like the Honda U3-X (75% of the Sama Team voted for it), the design is futuristic but only (Japanese?) women seem to be able to ‘ride’ it. Now you have seen the 3 unicycles, what is your favorite one? eniCycle, YikeBike or Honda U3-X? We should start polls on the Gazette 😉
