Last June, an artist we liked a lot, has died. His name was Leon Botha and last year we published on the Sama Gazette an article about him by Max Dana: Leon Botha: when Art is beyond what you see. On this first update of September, we wanted to pay tribute to this great artist by publishing a new article posted by Max Dana on her blog. Comments are closed on this page but you can send yours on Max Dana’s Blog. Leon Botha was a great ...
There are many Russian artists, amongst them is Ilya Kabakov. He was named by ArtNews as one of the “ten greatest living artists” and we totally agree with this statement. Kabakov has completed 155 installations in 15 years and you can see his work in the most prestigious galleries and ...
Last month we wrote about Freddy Tsimba, bullets can be art; today it is about another Congolese artist, Alain Polo Nzuzi. He uses visual art because as an artist, he is ‘more fascinated by the questions beyond extern(al) appearance. More fascinated by the way through this how we sometimes express out who we really are and how sometimes we hide it. Playing with this questions of appearance through body, fashion.’ You can visit his blog to ...

You can read on Wikipedia: Analysts and other activists said Ai had been widely thought to be ...

His wood sculptures, carved exclusively in Cypress wood, feature women with a variety of hairstyles: long, short, curly… These wall-mounted sculptures are ...

Almost two years ago, on the occasion of the Dunny Series 2009 release, we posted about the first time we saw a vinyl toy, that was when Max Dana showed us one of the many toys she collects from spanish designer Jaime Hayon. We like a lot what Hayon does and we think it was time to dedicate a post to him and his inspired and creative work, from vinyl toys to sofas and chairs, and ultra design Art Deco style ...
