Rats are larking around in Banksy’s bathroom!

You know we love Banksy, and you might even remember (it was almost ten years ago!) when our buddy da-eYe (Max Dana’s facetious and waggish character) was looking for Banksy at the 2011 Oscars. Because of the Coronavirus pandemic, many countries are in lockdown and street artists have now to work inside their home. And Banksy makes no exception, so he worked from home by bringing his outdoor work inside, and it looks like a pack of mischievous rats ...

Art in England: The felted world Felt Mistress

There are artists we like and we follow them on Twitter. Pete Fowler and Jon Burgerman are on the top list. And thanks to them, we discovered the highly talented Felt Mistess. She creates… creatures. Of all kind, really. And we love what she does!  But who is Felt Mistress? Felt Mistress AKA Louise Evans is a UK based stitcher and prolific tea drinker who creates a range of one-off bespoke creatures with her partner, illustrator Jonathan Edwards. ...

We were very intrigued by this story and we wanted to read more about it… From the article on BBC website: The Carrying of the Cross by the French master Nicolas Tournier was bought last year for 400,000 euros ($550,000) by the Weiss Gallery of ...

Is France making a fuss over the royal wedding?

On his post published on the New York Times yesterday, Saltmarsh seems to be surprised by our interest for the royal event. When we say ‘our’, we mean the interest of our fellow citizens for the British royal wedding. We probably won’t watch television on Friday, unless we change our mind. But apparently, some others are getting ready… Here is an extract from the New York Times post: ‘Olivier Debeugny, 37, who lives in the ...

Sunday Roundup: Graffiti, Congo, Sudan, J. Stiglitz, J. Silva

Sunday Roundup is not a new rendezvous on the Sama Gazette but it is one on Max Dana’s Blog. Last Sunday she started this new series of posts about what caught her attention during the week. It sounds like our weekly Friday Digest which Max said it inspired her but we have to admit her news roundup is far more detailed than ours. We still have to learn a lot from her, we know that! So we decided to cross post it here. You can also read this post on ...
